Why did Hamas give Keith Siegel two gift bags?
Hamas released today Keith Siegel, a 65-year-old dual US-”Israeli” national, as part of the fourth round of prisoner swaps under the Gaza ceasefire deal.
Notably, Hamas gave all freed “Israeli” captives Palestinian flag bracelets and a gift bag which previously contained perfumes, an envelope containing a map of Gaza, and commemorative photos from their captivity.
Keith Siegel was given two bags, as his wife, Aviva Siegel, was released in the first truce earlier in the war in November, 2023, but was not given a bag.
Siegel’s handover to the Red Cross was a success, and he returned into “Israeli” territory accompanied by the military – according to a statement.
Video footage released by the military shows Siegel’s wife Aviva, along with his relatives, watching the moment he is handed over by the Red Cross to the “Israeli” military after his release by Hamas.
