Authorities announce major drug busts across Jordan
The Public Security Directorate’s (PSD) media spokesperson announced that the Anti-Narcotics Department has intensified its crackdown on drug traffickers, smugglers, and dealers, conducting nine major operations across Jordan in recent days. These efforts led to the arrest of 17 suspects and the seizure of large quantities of narcotics and firearms.
One of the most significant operations targeted drug smugglers in the northern Badia, who were collaborating with external networks to bring narcotics into the country. Following extensive intelligence gathering, authorities carried out a series of raids, arresting six smugglers. During the operation, officers also seized 50kg of hashish (349 packages), with investigations ongoing to determine the intended recipients.
In eastern Amman, a joint security operation by the Anti-Narcotics Department and local police resulted in the arrest of eight individuals involved in drug trafficking. Authorities recovered various narcotics and firearms during the raid.
Meanwhile, in the southern Jordan Valley, three drug dealers were apprehended, with 15 packages of hashish confiscated.
In Aqaba, security forces arrested a high-risk drug trafficker, seizing narcotics and a firearm.
In the central Badia, a drug dealer was caught in possession of 14 packages of hashish, along with crystal meth and narcotic pills. Another suspect in the region was found with 11 packages of hashish.
Operations in the northern Badia led to the arrest of two dangerous fugitives in separate drug-related cases, both found in possession of illicit substances.
In Irbid, another dealer was raided and taken into custody, with authorities recovering drugs and a firearm.
