“Jordan for Jordanians, Palestine for Palestinians,” says Foreign Minister
Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi reiterated Jordan’s stance regarding the Palestinian cause, saying that “Jordan is for Jordanians, and Palestine for Palestinians”.
In a press conference with the UN Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza Sigrid Kaag, Safadi said Jordan takes pride in its role, under His Majesty King Abdullah’s leadership, in delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.
"We look forward to working with the new US administration and supporting peace efforts in the region,” Safadi said, adding that Jordan remains engaged with all parties to achieve peace.
“The Palestinian cause must be resolved with a Palestinian state; in which Jordan is for Jordanians, and Palestine for Palestinians.
"Our position is clear—two states are the only path to peace, and our rejection of displacement is unwavering,” he emphasized.
For her part, Sigrid Kaag hailed Jordan’s significant role in delivering and facilitating aid delivery to Gaza.
"There is an opportunity to achieve the two-state solution and empower both sides to reach it,” the UN Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator said, adding that they “hope to continue our humanitarian partnership with Jordan.”
