Unstable weather conditions to continue in Jordan through Saturday
Recent weather maps and numerical model analyses indicate that Jordan will remain under the influence of limited atmospheric instability on Saturday – per ArabiaWeather’s forecasts.
This is due to a cold upper trough approaching from Egypt, coinciding with the extension of the Red Sea Trough.
Friday night into Saturday morning
The weather is expected to be generally cold overnight, with lows in Amman dropping to around 6°C by early Saturday. Scattered rain showers are possible, occasionally accompanied by thunder.
Scattered rain showers continue on Saturday
During the day on Saturday, the instability will persist across parts of Jordan. The weather will be relatively cold to chilly, with highs in Amman ranging from 10°C to 13°C, and 20°C to 21°C in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy, with a chance of isolated and scattered rain showers, potentially including Amman.
Dense fog expected Saturday night into Sunday
As night falls, rainfall chances diminish, and humidity levels will rise significantly. The weather will remain cold, with lows in Amman around 5°C to 6°C and near freezing in the southern highlands.
Weather simulations predict dense fog formation overnight in wide areas of the eastern plains and desert regions, including main desert highways and Queen Alia International Airport.
The fog may extend into urban areas, causing significant reductions in horizontal visibility. It is expected to persist until late Sunday morning before gradually dissipating.
