Ministry of Public Works responds to multiple weather-related incidents across Jordan
Field teams from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing responded last night and early this morning to several reports regarding the effects of current weather conditions across Jordan.
According to a statement from the ministry, "Field teams in Balqa Governorate addressed soil and rockslides on the Wadi Shueib road, temporarily closing part of the route. Ministry machinery quickly cleared the debris, restoring traffic flow in a short time."
The ministry clarified that the incident in Wadi Shueib involved soil and rocks being displaced due to the rapid flow of water alongside the road, rather than a collapse.
The ministry emphasized, "This did not result in a complete road closure or the need to divert traffic, as one side of the road was closed until the mud and rocks were cleared, allowing for full traffic restoration shortly thereafter."
In the Ma'in area, the Madaba Public Works Directorate managed a similar soil displacement along the roadside, which did not lead to any road closures and was resolved swiftly. Many regions across the Kingdom experienced rising water levels in streams and wadis, leading to water accumulation in some areas, but this did not obstruct any roads.
