A source close to the investigation stated that the forensic committee will work on identifying five bodies, while one has already been identified. Additionally, a medical committee, in the presence of the prosecutor, will conduct autopsies on all six bodies to determine the cause of death.

The source also mentioned that the prosecutor, in coordination with the Public Security Directorate, is conducting a full inspection of the care center.

Head of the Public Prosecutor's Office, Youssef Dhiabat, informed Roya that the prosecutor had assigned three public prosecutors to investigate the incident.

Public Security Directorate had announced in a press release that initial investigations suggest the fire occurred due to one of the elderly residents, with the fatalities being caused by inhalation of thick smoke. Authorities are continuing their investigation before submitting the findings to the relevant judicial bodies.

Earlier, the Prime Minister visited the injured at Al-Bashir and Al-Totangi hospitals, accompanied by the Ministers of Social Development, Interior, and Government Communications, as well as hospital directors and the Director of Civil Defense. He was briefed on all actions taken at the fire site and the procedures followed.

The Prime Minister directed that all necessary medical and housing needs be provided and that the conditions of the elderly residents transferred to other shelters be monitored.
