Hamas issues statement on ceasefire agreement in Lebanon
In its first statement on the recent ceasefire agreement between Tel Aviv and Hezbollah, Hamas praised the crucial role played by the resistance in Lebanon, particularly in supporting the Palestinian resistance and the Gaza Strip.
The movement highlighted the sacrifices made by Hezbollah, especially under the leadership of the martyred Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and commended the unwavering solidarity shown by the Lebanese people with Palestine in the face of the Israeli Occupation and its brutal attacks.
Hamas emphasized that the enemy’s acceptance of the ceasefire agreement, despite not meeting its own terms, marks a significant blow to "Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ambitions of reshaping the Middle East through force. It described this development as a setback to his illusions of defeating the resistance forces or disarming them.
In the statement, Hamas expressed its belief that the agreement would not have been reached without the steadfastness of the resistance and the strong support of the Lebanese people. "We are confident that the resistance axis will continue to stand by our people and support their struggle through every possible means," the movement stated.
Hamas also expressed its commitment to any efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire in Gaza, aligning itself with efforts to stop the ongoing Israeli Occupation aggression. The movement reiterated its focus on halting the violence against Palestinian people in Gaza and outlined key terms for peace, including a ceasefire, withdrawal of occupation forces, the return of displaced individuals, and a comprehensive prisoner exchange agreement.
The group praised the resilience and bravery of the people of Gaza, who have been enduring the conflict for more than a year. "They are writing history with their sacrifices and struggles, and we stand with them, united in defense of our land," Hamas affirmed.
