Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati stated that Lebanon is beginning the process of "rebuilding what has been destroyed," commending the Lebanese Army for restoring security to the south. He also called for the election of a new president.

Mikati emphasized that "the responsibility is significant and collective," urging all political parties to participate in the "reform efforts" and move beyond past conflicts.

He expressed gratitude to the brotherly and friendly nations that helped secure the ceasefire, reaffirming Lebanon's commitment to its sovereignty "on land, at sea, and in the air."

Mikati added, "We are regaining the trust of the international community and restoring the Lebanese people's faith in the state," urging the occupying forces to "fully adhere" to the ceasefire resolution.

Regarding Lebanon's future, Mikati remarked, "We will set aside our differences and focus on the future," stressing that Lebanon will collaborate with "friendly nations" to "rebuild the affected areas."

Mikati also confirmed the government's commitment to implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
