Jordan and Iraq discuss strengthening bilateral relations amid football fever

Jordan's Prime Minister, Dr. Jaafar Hassan, and his Iraqi counterpart, Mohammad Shia al-Sudani, underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation to serve the mutual interests of both nations.

During a phone call on Thursday, the two leaders discussed the ongoing World Cup qualifier match between Jordan's and Iraq's national football teams, set to take place in Basra this evening.

Both expressed their well wishes for the teams, hoping for success in their upcoming games and their journey toward the World Cup finals.

The phone conversation also highlighted the historical and brotherly ties between the two countries. Prime Minister al-Sudani extended his congratulations to Dr. Hassan on the formation of the new government, wishing him success in his leadership role.
