Jordan has reported 87 suicide cases in the first 10 months of 2024, averaging about nine cases per month, according to data from the National Center for Forensic Medicine.

The statistics show a notable decline in suicides compared to previous years, with 160 recorded cases in 2023 and 145 in 2022.

The most recent cases occurred on Sunday, involving a man and a woman found dead under the Abdoun Bridge in Amman, just hours apart.

The data indicates that 60 of this year's recorded suicides occurred in the central region (including Amman, Zarqa, Balqa, and Madaba), 15 cases in the northern region (Irbid, Ajloun, Jerash, and Mafraq), and 12 cases in the southern region (Karak, Ma'an, Tafileh, and Aqaba).

The figures for 2023 marked an increase of 15 cases compared to 2022, highlighting a downward trend in 2024.
