Back-to-back fatal falls from Abdoun Bridge: What we know so far

A man and a woman have died in the last 24 hours after falling from Abdoun Bridge in Amman, authorities reported.

Initial findings, shared with Roya News by a source close to the investigation, indicate that the two incidents were separate and appear to align with cases of suicide.

In the first incident, sanitation workers discovered the man, reportedly in his 30s, at around 8 AM on Sunday beneath the bridge, where his body was found on a dirt surface.

Investigators believe he first struck nearby trees before falling to the ground. Medical examiners determined rigor mortis had set in, suggesting he fell late Saturday night.

Later in the afternoon, the body of a woman was discovered on the main road below the bridge, in full view of bystanders. Forensic reports indicate multiple fractures across her body and an initial state of muscle flaccidity, typical after recent fatal impact.

The public prosecutor has directed that both bodies be transferred to the National Center for Forensic Medicine to determine the precise cause of death.
