Army foils drone drug smuggling attempt at western border

Early Monday, the Jordanian Southern Command of the armed forces thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs using a drone along its western front.

The Arab Army said in a statement today that Border Guard forces, in coordination with military security and the Anti-Narcotics Department, intercepted a drone attempting to cross the border.

The drone was tracked, engaged following standard rules of engagement, and subsequently brought down within Jordanian territory. The seized materials were handed over to relevant authorities.

“The Armed Forces is committed to using all resources to prevent infiltration and smuggling attempts, ensuring the Kingdom's security and stability,” the statement concluded.
