Truck driver arrested for driving against traffic in Karak

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) arrested a truck driver and confiscated his vehicle after a video showed him dangerously driving against traffic in Karak Governorate.

According to the statement, on Saturday, police patrols attempted to stop the driver, who ignored their signals and continued driving the wrong way on a main road for a considerable distance, even running a red light.

The statement noted that authorities pursued him until he abandoned the truck and fled on foot. The vehicle was subsequently seized, and efforts to identify the driver commenced.

On Sunday evening, following investigations, officers located and apprehended him. He admitted to removing the truck’s license plate and fleeing due to the vehicle’s expired registration and his lack of a valid driver’s license.

Legal action is being taken against him, and the truck has been placed in a holding area in Suwaqa for the required duration.
