Woman goes missing during Umrah; Foreign Ministry says it’s investigating
The Operations and Consular Affairs Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said it is closely monitoring reports regarding the disappearance of a Jordanian woman at the Grand Mosque in Mecca while performing Umrah.
The ministry's spokesperson, Ambassador Dr. Sufian Qudah, confirmed that the ministry, through its Operations and Consular Affairs Directorate and the Jordanian Consulate General in Jeddah, has been coordinating with Saudi authorities to search for the missing citizen since receiving the report of her being out of contact.
Ambassador Qudah also emphasized that the Directorate remains in constant communication with the family of the missing woman. He noted that the ministry continues to work with all relevant parties to locate her and ensure her safe return to the Kingdom as soon as possible.
