Jordan condemns 'Israeli' attack on Gaza school sheltering displaced civilians

Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the Israeli Occupation's attack on a school sheltering displaced people in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, which resulted in numerous casualties.

The ministry described the attack as a heinous crime that adds to the war crimes committed by Tel Aviv against the Palestinian people, calling it a blatant violation of international law, humanitarian principles, and an ongoing targeted assault on civilians and displacement shelters.

Ministry spokesperson, Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Qudah, reiterated Jordan’s absolute rejection and condemnation of the continued Israeli Occupation crimes against civilians, emphasizing that these actions are a flagrant breach of international law, international humanitarian law, and the 1949 Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilians in Time of War. He stressed that Tel Aviv disregards the international community’s calls to end the war and its resulting unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.

Qudah also highlighted the importance of protecting civilians and preserving vital infrastructure providing essential services to Palestinians, as well as safeguarding humanitarian facilities and shelters in accordance with international law.

The ambassador urged the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities by compelling Tel Aviv to immediately stop its aggression on Gaza, provide necessary protection for the Palestinian people, and hold those responsible for these crimes accountable, while putting an end to Israeli Occupation’s continued violations of international law and the rulings of the International Court of Justice.
