'World must acknowledge Israeli brutality,' says Jordan FM
Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi emphasized the urgent need for the international community to assist Lebanon in addressing the needs of over 1.2 million displaced persons since the onset of the Israeli Occupation aggression on Lebanon on the 23rd of last month.
During his speech at the international conference to support Lebanon and its sovereignty, inaugurated by French President Emmanuel Macron, Safadi stressed that Lebanon cannot bear the burden of displacement alone, necessitating immediate international support.
He noted, "Displaced individuals should not suffer the humiliation of poverty after experiencing the terror of displacement and leaving their homes."

Safadi also highlighted that the solution goes beyond providing humanitarian aid; the international effort should focus on ending the unlawful 'Israeli' aggression against Lebanon, which he described as barbaric and unjustified. He stated, "It is time for the world to recognize the brutal and racist identity of the Israeli government."
He asserted that the crimes committed by Israeli Occupation in Gaza and Lebanon constitute war crimes that have not been seen for decades. He pointed out that the immunity granted to 'Israel' by the international community has allowed it to continue violating international law. Safadi referred to the escalating situation in the West Bank, confirming that there is currently no partner for peace within the 'Israeli' government.
The Minister reiterated that Jordan will continue its efforts to halt aggression against Lebanon and Palestine and support endeavors to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that ensures security and stability, emphasizing the need to end the Israeli Occupation and guarantee the Palestinian people's right to their own state.
Safadi mentioned that while humanitarian aid is essential, the focus must be on ending the cause of the catastrophe. "The aggression against Lebanon must cease immediately. It is an unlawful, barbaric aggression that cannot be justified," he said.
He urged that "it is time for the world to acknowledge the brutal, expansionist, and racist identity of the Israeli government and to stop this government from killing innocents, starving them, destroying their lives, and burning children in refugee tents, while pushing the region toward the brink of regional war."

Safadi concluded by stating that the international community must act swiftly to end the aggression against Lebanon and implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701, highlighting the importance of equipping the Lebanese armed forces with the necessary resources to fulfill their role. He called for collective efforts to provide assistance to Lebanon, underscoring the conference's significance in coordinating international support and ensuring effective action to aid the country.
He asserted that the conference should send a clear and firm message that the world will not remain silent in the face of further killings and violations of international law, and that Israeli Occupation cannot operate above the law. Without this, he warned, 'Israel' will not cease its killings and breaches of international law, losing what credibility it has left, rendering the term "common humanitarian values" meaningless.
