What was Sinwar’s last message to Hamas before his death?
Before his death while clashing with “Israeli” forces in Rafah, and after the killing Hezbollah’s long-time leader Hassan Nasrallah, Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar delivered a message to Hamas’ political leadership outside of Gaza on how the group should proceed after his death.
Sinwar’s message, believed to be sent early September/early October, told Hamas leadership that they are likely to face greater pressure to compromise but shouldn’t – according to Arab mediators cited by The Wall Street Journal.

Sinwar was also said to be preparing for death.
He advised Hamas members that “Israel” would likely offer concessions to end its aggression against the Gaza Strip after he was gone.
Sinwar told members that Hamas would be in a stronger position in negotiations afterwards, and also recommended that they appoint a council of leaders to manage the transition following his death.

After becoming “Israel’s” number one target in the aftermath of Oct. 7; Sinwar evaded all efforts by the Israeli Occupation, the United States, and its other allies to reach him.
Sinwar used handwritten letters to communicate with others, and trusted only a few confidential figures.
Early in the war, Arab mediators offered Sinwar a safe passage out of the Gaza Strip, in exchange for Egypt to take command of the negotiations on behalf of Hamas.
Sinwar declined, and said: “I’m not under siege, I’m on Palestinian soil.”
