Iraq suspends MBC operations

The Communications and Media Commission announced on Saturday the suspension of MBC's operations in Iraq.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the commission emphasized its duty to regulate the media sector and uphold national values and public morals. They cited MBC's repeated violations of broadcasting regulations and its disrespect toward martyrs and resistance leaders fighting against the Israeli Occupation.

The commission stated, "In light of MBC's transgressions, we confirm that all necessary legal actions will be taken to suspend its operations in Iraq." They also directed their executive body to revoke the channel's operating license.
