Safadi, Blinken discuss escalating regional crises in call

Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke over the phone today to discuss efforts to halt the escalating violence in the region and ensure the immediate and adequate delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and Lebanon.

During the call, Safadi emphasized that stopping “Israel's” aggression on Gaza is the first step toward de-escalation. He also stressed the importance of halting the attacks on Lebanon and fully implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701 – said a statement by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry.

Safadi further highlighted the need to de-escalate tensions in the occupied West Bank and called on “Israel” to cease its violations at Jerusalem's holy sites, urging respect for the historical and legal status quo.
