Jordanian military foils drone smuggling attempt on western border

Jordanian Southern Command foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotics into Jordan on Wednesday using a drone on the western border.

A military source from the Jordanian Armed Forces stated, "A drone loaded with narcotics attempted to cross the border illegally. The rules of engagement were applied, and the drone's cargo was intercepted and brought down within Jordanian territory in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department. The seized materials have been handed over to the relevant authorities."

The source added that the Jordanian Armed Forces remain committed to utilizing their resources and capabilities to counter such threats to national security, noting that border guards use the latest technology to carry out their duties along all of the kingdom’s borders.
