Jordan temporarily closes airspace

Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) announced the temporary closure of Jordanian airspace to all air traffic.

The decision was made in light of recent developments in the region.

On Tuesday evening, residents across Jordan shared scenes of dozens of missiles launched from Iran toward Israeli Occupation territories. This missile assault followed US warnings of a potential imminent strike by Iran.

A military source from the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces has announced that all units are on high alert in response to ongoing regional military escalations.

The armed forces are closely monitoring the situation and have reinforced frontline units along the borders to protect the Kingdom.

The source emphasized their operational readiness and commitment to safeguarding national security. Additionally, citizens are urged to obtain information from official sources and avoid spreading rumors that could incite panic, reassuring the public that the armed forces are dedicated to defending the nation against destabilizing threats.

- Police urge citizens to heed warnings -

The Public Security Directorate has urged citizens to heed army warnings regarding missile and drone threats in Jordanian airspace. Citizens are advised to stay home for safety, avoid congested roads, and refrain from driving. If in vehicles, they should find a secure location.

The Directorate emphasizes not approaching debris and encourages reporting incidents by calling 911. In emergencies, citizens should contact the Civil Defense Directorate with precise locations.

They stress the importance of following safety instructions and obtaining information from official sources to prevent the spread of rumors that could threaten national security.
