A man who opened fire inside a factory in Aqaba has been apprehended, according to an update from Jordan's Public Security Directorate (PSD).

The incident occurred after the shooter, recently dismissed from his job, randomly fired shots inside the factory on Monday morning. Four individuals were injured in the attack.

Initially, the shooter fled the scene, sparking a manhunt by authorities.

Among the victims are a 60-year-old British national, who suffered critical gunshot wounds to the chest and shoulder, and a 40-year-old Serbian national, also in critical condition, with a penetrating gunshot wound to the chest.

Two Jordanians, aged 20 and 41, were also injured, one suffering head injuries and the other being treated for shock.

The PSD confirmed that the shooter was eventually located and arrested, with the weapon used in the attack recovered. Investigations are ongoing as authorities prepare to refer the case to the judiciary.
