Jordan's authorities urge citizens to follow safety warnings amid air defense operations

The Public Security Directorate has called on citizens to heed warnings issued by the army in response to Royal Air Force and air defense systems engaging with multiple missiles and drones that have entered Jordanian airspace.

The Directorate urged the public to follow safety instructions and remain at home, which is deemed the safest place under the current emergency conditions, to ensure their safety.

Furthermore, citizens were advised to avoid congested roads and refrain from driving due to potential dangers. If they are already in their vehicles, they should find a secure location to wait until the situation is stabilized.

The Public Security Directorate emphasized that citizens should not approach or handle any debris or fallen objects and should refrain from gathering near these areas until specialized teams arrive. They are also encouraged to report the locations of any fallen objects to ensure safety and minimize casualties by calling 911.

In the event of a fire or human casualties caused by falling debris, the Directorate has stressed the importance of contacting the Civil Defense Directorate and providing precise locations through the 911 hotline.

The Directorate reiterated the necessity for citizens to adhere to all issued instructions during these exceptional circumstances for their safety and the safety of their families. They encouraged continuous communication of information to relevant authorities via 911 while urging the public to remain calm.

Additionally, the Public Security Directorate highlighted the importance of obtaining information from official sources and refraining from spreading rumors or misleading news on social media that could impact national security.
