Jordan's Umm Al-Jimal nominated for World Heritage Status by UNESCO

22-07-2024 20:48|The UNESCO World Heritage Committee is set to evaluate proposals for listing 27 new sites on the World Heritage List, including the archaeological site of Umm Al-Jimal in Jordan.
Jordan, known for its rich historical and cultural heritage, already boasts six sites on the World Heritage List.
These sites include the iconic Petra, Quseir Amra, Umm Al-Rasas, Wadi Rum, the Baptism Site (Al-Maghtas), and the city of Salt.
The committee's 46th session is scheduled to take place from July 21-31 in New Delhi, where it will deliberate on various heritage matters.
