The Houthis said today that they carried out a “special military operation” targeting what it said were “important Israeli targets” in Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) using a number of ballistic missiles.

The operation achieved its goals successfully, the statement added.

Houthi military spokesperson, Yahya Sare’e added that they carried out a joint military operation between the naval, UAV, and missile forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces against an American container ship “Pumba” using a number of ballistic missiles and drones which led to a “direct hit” on the ship.

Earlier today, the “Israeli” military said it intercepted a missile fired from Yemen towards Eilat, hours after “Israel” carried out airstrikes on the Yemeni port city of Hodeida on Saturday night.

"The projectile did not cross into Israeli territory. Rocket and missile sirens were sounded following the possibility of falling shrapnel," the statement said.

The Yemeni city of Hodeida has been targeted by multiple “Israeli” strikes on Saturday night., in response to a Houthi drone attack on Tel Aviv a day before.

Houthi-affiliated media stated that the strikes specifically targeted oil refinery facilities at Hodeida's port, leading to significant damage.

These attacks followed a Houthi drone attack that breached “Israel's” air defenses, striking a building in Tel Aviv and killing one.

“Israeli” Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said the strike was in order to send a message across the Middle East.

“The fire that is currently burning in Hodeidah, is seen across the Middle East and the significance is clear,” Gallant said in a statement.

“The Houthis attacked us over 200 times. The first time that they harmed an Israeli citizen, we struck them. And we will do this in any place where it may be required.”
