King Abdullah II on Wednesday hosted an official dinner at the Al Husseiniyah Palace today, Wednesday, in honor of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Crown Prince Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II.

The dinner was attended by Prince Faisal bin Hussein, head of the honorary mission accompanying Sultan Haitham, and senior officials.

His Majesty and his brother, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, held talks at the Basmah Al Zaher Palace, discussing fraternal relations and regional developments.

The King welcomed his guest, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, to the state visit he began to the Kingdom, while Sultan Haitham expressed his appreciation to King Abdullah for the warm welcome and generous hospitality.

Both monarchs emphasized during extensive bilateral talks their pride in the deep-rooted historical relations between the two countries and brotherly peoples.

They underscored the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation opportunities in all fields, especially investment and economic ones.

The two monarchs also exchanged views on various regional and international issues, especially the dangerous situation in Gaza.

They emphasized the need for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, protecting civilians, and intensifying efforts to deliver sufficient humanitarian aid to all parts of the Strip without interception or delay.

The King reiterated the importance of immediate and urgent international action to stop the worsening humanitarian disaster in the Strip.

He warned of the danger of the "Israeli" military operation in Rafah and its repercussions on widening the war in the entire region.

The King stressed the importance of finding a political horizon to end the war on Gaza based on a two-state solution, and supporting the Palestinian brothers in obtaining their legitimate rights and establishing their independent state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with its capital in East Jerusalem.

The talks were attended by Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh, Royal Hashemite Court Chief Youssef Hassan Al-Issaoui, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, King's Office Director Jaafar Hassan, General Intelligence Director Major General Ahmed Hassani, Minister of Investment Khaldoun Al-Saqf, and Jordanian Ambassador to Oman Amjad Al-Qahwi.

On the Omani side, the talks were attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, His Highness Sayyid Bilal bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Royal Office Lieutenant General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Numani, Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Omani Ambassador to the Kingdom Sheikh Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al Ajili, and a number of officials.

Following the talks, King Abdullah II received from Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, the Order of Al Said, the highest Omani order, in appreciation of his Majesty and pride in the deep fraternal ties between the two sister countries and peoples.

The King also awarded his brother Sultan the Order of Al Hussein bin Ali, in appreciation of his Majesty and to deepen the strong relations between the two sister countries, on the occasion of Sultan's state visit to Jordan.

The Order is the highest civilian order in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, awarded to kings, princes, and heads of state.
