170 days of aggression against Gaza

The Israeli occupation aggression on the Gaza Strip has entered its 170th day. Palestinians in Gaza are currently dying of hunger due to shortages of food and medical supplies and the occupation's refusal to allow aid convoys to bring in sufficient quantities of food, in addition to targeting and killing civilians merely lining up to receive aid.

A Hamas official, speaking to Agence France-Presse on Saturday, announced that the positions are "very distant" in the ongoing ceasefire negotiations through intermediaries in Doha, accusing the “Israeli” government of deliberately "thwarting and sabotaging" them.

The Hamas official stated that the positions in the negotiations between Hamas, Palestinian resistance factions, and the Israeli occupation are very distant “because the enemy understood Hamas's flexibility as weakness.”

UN Security Council postponed the vote on a draft resolution proposed by seven non-permanent member states, seeking a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during Ramadan, according to media reports.

The vote, initially scheduled for Monday, has been rescheduled for the following day, reportedly due to negotiations involving Washington.

Russia and China blocked a draft resolution put forward by Washington, criticizing it as politicized and granting excessive freedom to the Israeli Occupation

The death toll of the aggression against Gaza has reached 32,142 martyrs, in addition to 74,412 injuries since Oct. 7, 2023.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) announced that its death toll has reached 594 since Oct. 7, and 251 since the start of the ground invasion of the Strip on Oct. 27, 2023.

3,109 IOF soldiers have also been injured since Oct. 7, with 485 of them in critical condition, 823 moderate injuries, and 1,801 minor injuries.
