Israeli Foreign Minister accuses UN of anti-Semitism as Secretary-General calls for Gaza ceasefire
Israeli Occupation Foreign Minister Israel Katz criticized the United Nations, labeling it as hostile towards Israeli Occupation and "anti-Semitic."
His remarks came after United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for a ceasefire in Gaza during his visit to the Egyptian side of Rafah, highlighting the dire humanitarian situation.
Katz suggested that Guterres might condemn the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) following allegations of involvement of some of its employees in an operation on October 7.
Guterres, speaking from Rafah, Egypt, described the Palestinians' living conditions as catastrophic, stating that they endure an ongoing nightmare.
Regarding the continued Israeli Occupation aggression in Gaza, Guterres emphasized that there is no justification for collective punishment of the Palestinian people. He urged for an immediate ceasefire for humanitarian reasons, citing the widespread suffering and destruction.
Furthermore, Guterres called for the release of all captives, particularly during the month of Ramadan, known for its mercy and compassion.
