Jordan evacuates 36 citizens from Gaza during past two days

Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates successfully evacuated 36 out of 61 Jordanians over the past two days from the Gaza Strip to Egypt via the Rafah crossing.

Ambassador Sufyan Al-Qudah, the official spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, confirmed that 18 Jordanian citizens were securely transferred from Gaza to Egypt through the Rafah crossing aboard a ship operated by the Arab Bridge Maritime Co. This operation was conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Transport, and the ship arrived at Aqaba port from Nuweiba.

To date, a total of 799 Jordanians have been evacuated from Gaza to Egypt through the Rafah crossing out of the 1,247 registered on the ministry’s lists. Upon arrival at Aqaba port, the evacuees received assistance and medical care from the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, with some individuals being transferred to Amman.

Additionally, 18 other evacuees arrived in Cairo.

The Foreign Ministry urged Jordanians in Gaza to contact the Ministry’s Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs for assistance around the clock through the provided phone numbers or email address.

A team from the Jordanian embassy in Egypt remains stationed at the Rafah crossing to oversee the evacuation operations, provide assistance, and ensure the safety and security of Jordanian citizens. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to continuing evacuations as necessary, employing various methods to ensure the safety of all citizens.
