The International Astronomical Center (IAC) released Monday, the first image of Ramadan’s crescent moon captured from the skies of Abu Dhabi.

The IAC stated in a post on its account on "X" (formerly Twitter) that the Ramadan crescent was photographed on Monday from Abu Dhabi, using Al Khatim Astronomical Observatory.

It added that the image was captured at exactly 10:00 AM UAE time (9:00 AM Amman time), indicating that the moon's distance from the sun is 13.0 degrees.

The Central Hilal Committee of North America announced that the crescent was not sighted by all observation committees scattered across the eastern, central, and western United States. Therefore, it announced that Tuesday, March 12th, marks the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
