'October 7' restaurant owner removes name, citing lack of license
Nabeel Al-Saraireh, owner of the "October 7" restaurant, stated that he has removed the restaurant's name, saying: "I decided to change the name as I did not obtain a license for the trade name from the relevant authorities."
Al-Saraireh had confirmed to Roya that he received many calls and inquiries about the reason for naming the restaurant "October 7".
He explained that the reason for the name is not only related to the ongoing events in the Gaza Strip but also to the date of his daughter's graduation from Algeria on October 7.
He emphasized that his stance on the Palestinian cause is like that of any supportive Jordanian, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people in the face of the ongoing Israeli Occupation aggression on Gaza.
The name of the restaurant caused anger among leaders of the Israeli Occupation, where the leader of the opposition in the Israeli Occupation, Yair Lapid, expressed his strong anger, saying, "The disgraceful glorification of October 7 must stop."
"We expect the Jordanian government to publicly and unequivocally condemn this matter," he added.
Social media users shared videos showing the restaurant staff wearing uniforms with "October 7" written on them.
The restaurant carried the name "October 7" as an expression of support for the Palestinian cause and the people in the Gaza Strip.
