Jordan's Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya stated that the Ministry of Interior has achieved significant milestones last year, including the launch of the electronic visa.

During a meeting with the Parliamentary Finance Committee in the House of Representatives to discuss the budget of the Ministry of Interior, the General Security Directorate, and the Civil Status Department, the minister stated that 121 investors were granted Jordanian citizenship, bringing the total to 465 investors holding citizenship since 2018. This means that more than 25 percent of them acquired citizenship during the previous year.

Al-Faraya mentioned the reintegration of over 6,000 individuals into their places of residence, applying the tribal reconciliation document to all cases that occurred after its adoption.

He highlighted that administrative governors received around 23,000 complaints last year across various aspects of citizens' daily lives. These complaints were addressed to ensure public order and prevent encroachments on the rights of others.

Al-Faraya also discussed security campaigns to prevent the sale of fuel on roads, remove encroachments on water networks, and efforts to combat these phenomena. A total of 204 encroachments on water networks were removed, 125 illegal wells were filled, and 10 excavators were seized.

Regarding tourism, Al-Faraya mentioned allowing Syrians to visit the Kingdom for tourism purposes, with approximately 120,000 tourists entering, generating around JD 30 million in revenue.

He emphasized that the Ministry of Interior's tasks include upholding the principle of the rule of law, preserving the state's authority, and promoting national unity, loyalty, and belonging values.
