The governor of Amman Saad Shehab said Tuesday that 18 facilities were shut down due to defense law violations in several areas of the capital.

Shehab indicated that the facilities did not adhere to public health and safety requirements in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

He noted that ministry inspection teams conducted tours around Amman to ensure that stores, establishments, restaurants, and other facilities are adhering to the defense orders.

The necessary legal and administrative measures were taken against all violating facilities, including closing the establishments, and arresting the owners of cafes which were found serving shisha.

Shehab emphasized that these tours are being carried out to ensure their commitment to defense orders and public health conditions.
