The Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced the launch of its strategy for the years 2024-2026. The plan was unveiled by the PSD director, Major General Dr. Obeidallah Almaaytah, encompassing various focal points and a series of recently completed executive plans.

The strategy aims to translate and implement the duties of PSD, enhancing them according to a scientific methodology that ensures enforcement with the highest levels of professionalism, capability, and efficiency while optimally utilizing all the available resources.

The strategy includes all aspects of police and security work, as well as the civil defense system, taking into account security developments, the changing nature of crimes, and the expansion of the directorate's missions and duties. The goal is to provide services to citizens through its various formations and departments.

Almaaytah stated that the adoption and launch of the strategic plan today align with the royal directives from His Majesty, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, King Abdullah II, and his letter of designation to Almaaytah, the plan aims to enhance performance, improve services, and maintain security, lives, and properties to ensure that Jordan remains a haven of safety and stability.

He added that the strategic plan resulted from systematic and collaborative effort, conducting an extensive study of the reality of police work and the civil defense protection system. Almaaytah emphasized that the strategy is based on five main institutional goals: reducing crime, combating drug abuse, enhancing road safety and security, providing an effective response to emergencies and disasters, and achieving sustainable development for the General Security system according to the highest international standards.

He stressed the constant effort to uplift all PSD formations and units, providing them with everything they need to carry out their tasks efficiently and competently.
