Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Yusuf Al-Shamali, confirmed a noticeable increase in demand for local products in several sectors, including detergents and food industries, attributing the surge as a result of the boycott campaign against products supporting the Israeli occupation in their aggression against the Gaza Strip, with consumers shifting towards local alternatives.

During his meeting with the representatives of the industrial sector in the Irbid Chamber of Industry, Al-Shamali stated that demand for Jordanian products has risen by approximately 20 percent. He emphasized that the government encourages local consumption of Jordanian products, as it promotes Jordanian employment and supports the local economy.

Regarding the boycott, he indicated that it is a right for citizens, asserting their freedom to choose goods from any source.

Addressing concerns about rising prices in the markets, Al-Shamali denied any increase in the prices of national products, dismissing such claims as inaccurate. He pointed out that a real-world study revealed a 1 percent increase in prices for some items, such as rice imported from India, due to the Indian government's decision to halt exports.
