Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi emphasized the importance of the Jordanian-Egyptian relations and the level of coordination and consultation between the two countries in all fields and crises - In an interview with the Middle East News Agency, and published by the Jordanian News Agency "Petra".

The ongoing consultation, coordination, and communication between Egypt and Jordan are a continuous approach between the two partner countries, Safadi added, and that coordination and communication were intensive and began from the very first moments of the events in Gaza since October 7.

Safadi stressed that Egypt and Jordan have been exerting “ongoing and relentless efforts” to stop the targeting of civilians in Gaza, and that Cairo and Amman have a pivotal role in the efforts to stop the war and return to the negotiation table to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with its capital in East Jerusalem.

Safadi highlighted that since October, His Majesty King Abdullah II and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi have been warning against escalation, urging action, and working with international partners to stop the bloodshed and condemn the crimes against civilians.

He reiterated that King Abdullah and President Sisi are committed advocates for peace, security, and stability in the region, especially concerning the Palestinian cause, considering it central to Cairo and Amman and to the Arab and Islamic nations.

Safadi emphasized Jordan's absolute rejection of the displacement of Palestinians and any attempt to resolve the Palestinian issue at the expense of Jordan or Egypt - as both His Majesty and President Sisi vigorously stressed in various meetings and international forums.

Close cooperation between Jordan and the Arab Republic of Egypt is currently ongoing in delivering humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip through Arish International Airport, considered by Safadi to signify the close partnership between the two countries, as Cairo and Amman “share historical positions and aligned visions on many Arab and international issues.”

Safadi stated that Egypt made significant efforts along with their Qatari counterparts to broker the truce agreement, and praised Egypt's pivotal role in achieving it and the continuous consultation with partners to extend it and halt the ongoing Israeli Occupation aggression against the Gaza strip, and to reach a permanent ceasefire.

As for the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II and his international tours that contributed to bring the Palestinian cause to the fore at all international platforms, Safadi added that since the beginning of the Occupation’s aggression, His Majesty, recognizing its danger to the region and the world, conducted several foreign and European visits to warn of the ramifications of the aggression.

Safadi emphasized that these visits and meetings significantly contribute to clarifying the reality and the dangers of the Israeli Occupation aggression against Gaza, and has managed to bring about a partial shift in the positions of countries that previously supported and adopted the Israeli Occupation’s misleading narrative - as there are now voices calling for a permanent ceasefire and a return to negotiations, indicating a noticeable development in international stances towards the Palestinian cause.

Cairo and Amman share historical positions and aligned visions on many Arab and international issues, Safdi added.
