  • The PSD identified the game Doki Doki Literature Club as a high-risk platform that uses a deceptive, "cartoon-style" school aesthetic to expose children to "dark psychological content," including themes of self-harm, suicide, and depression.
  • Authorities urged parents to immediately delete the game from all devices and monitor their children's downloads, warning that exposure to such content can cause severe anxiety and stress in teenagers.

Jordan’s Public Security Directorate (PSD) warned of the risks posed by what it said are video games that may appear suitable for children but contain highly dangerous psychological content.

Among them is the game Doki Doki Literature Club, which has recently spread across the internet and video-sharing platforms, according to PSD’s statement.

The directorate said the game initially appears as a cartoon-style school story but gradually shifts into dark psychological content.

It includes sensitive themes such as depression, self-harm, suicide, and mental disorders, making it unsuitable for children.

According to the PSD, the game’s danger lies in its deceptive nature. Its cartoon design and bright colors may encourage children to try it without understanding the true nature of its content or its severe psychological impact.

The directorate added that exposure to this type of content could cause fear, anxiety, and stress among children and teenagers, potentially affecting their psychological well-being and daily behavior.

The PSD urged parents to prevent the game from being downloaded onto smartphones and electronic devices, monitor all content that children download or watch, and strengthen dialogue with their children about the safe use of the internet and electronic games.
