The former Director General of the Royal Medical Services (RMS), Dr. Adel Al Wahadneh, highlighted the significance of vaccination programs in national health security.

He explained the distinction between the national vaccination program and vaccination campaigns, emphasizing their respective roles and schedules.

Wahadneh clarified that the national program follows a structured and defined timeline, subject to updates based on World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines.

On the other hand, vaccination campaigns are swift, time-bound initiatives designed to address specific health concerns, such as controlling measles outbreaks.

He stressed that measles vaccines are safe and effective, adding that it has been in use for over 40 years in numerous countries, holding sufficient scientific backing for its safety.

Dr. Hayel Obeidat, former Director General of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), commended Jordan's 'Grade A' global ranking in the national vaccination program.

He noted that the manufacturer from which the measles vaccine was imported is one of the largest, exporting its products to nearly 180 countries, including the United States.

Obeidat underscored the program's 50-year history, establishing Jordan as an advanced nation in this regard.

He emphasized the need for continuous program development, aligning with WHO-endorsed national immunization campaigns.

Obeidat affirmed the safety of the measles vaccine and urged the public to refrain from misinformation and rumors that adversely impact Jordan's healthcare system.
