A 12-year-old drowned in a 12-meter-deep earth-fill dam in Wadi Musa Sunday.

The boy reportedly got into the water to cool off during the ongoing heatwave affecting the Kingdom, a source told Roya.

The child’s body was recovered by divers from the Civil Defence Directorate after they were alerted by the boy's family, according to a source close to the investigation.

An autopsy was conducted by the Forensic Medicine Department in the southern region confirming "no criminal suspicion."
