The Ministry of Education (MoE) announced Thursday that the summer break for school students has been reduced by around 10 days.

The MoE also revealed the school calendar for the next academic year 2023/2024 for public schools, military schools, and UNRWA schools.

Here's the calendar: 

- Aug. 13, 2023: Teaching staff returns to work.

- Aug. 16-17: Students will be given their textbooks. Also, students will take the make-up exams.

- Aug. 20, 2023: Students return to school.

- From Dec. 19, 2023 until Jan. 6, 2024: Students will take the final exams for the first semester.

- From Jan. 7, 2024, until Jan. 20, 2024: Winter break starts.

- Jan. 21, 2024: Second semester starts.

- From May 5, 2024 until May 26, 2024: Tawjihi students begin taking exams.

- From June 1, 2024 until June 25, 2024: School students (until grade 11) begin taking final exams.

- June 26, 2024: Summer break starts.

The number of school attendance days in the 2023/2024 academic year totals 217 days.
