Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi emphasized the international community's need to take effective measures to enforce a two-state solution, beginning with the recognition of Palestine as a state.

In Riyadh, Safadi and the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, discussed efforts towards implementing the two-state solution and recognizing an independent Palestinian state.

They also discussed Gaza's situation, focusing on halting the war, protecting civilians, and delivering humanitarian aid across the Strip, along with efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region.

The discussion occurred during a meeting between Safadi and Borrell on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum's special session in Saudi Arabia.

Safadi praised Borrell's efforts to halt aggression, address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, uphold international and humanitarian law, and emphasize that an independent Palestinian state through a two-state solution is vital for regional security and peace.

Both Safadi and Borrell emphasized the need to intensify efforts for a complete ceasefire in Gaza and the unimpeded entry of humanitarian aid.

They also underscored the strong, friendly relations between Jordan and the European Union, expressing a mutual desire to enhance cooperation across various domains.
