Sunday, the Israeli Occupation's security agency Shin Beto announced that the Jordanian MP Imad Al-Adwan, who was arrested by the Israeli Occupation authorities for allegedly attempting to smuggle quantities of gold and weapons, was handed over to Jordan to complete the investigation process and trial procedures with him.

Earlier Sunday, Adwan's lawyer said Ofer prison management has begun procedures for the release of MP Imad Al-Adwan.

Lawyer Jawad Boulos said that the Israeli occupation authorities decided to release Adwan and return him to Jordan.

He added, in an exclusive statement to Roya, that the Israeli Occupation authorities had informed him that his detention will not be extended and that he will be released Sunday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates confirmed the return of Adwan via King Hussein Bridge

The ministry's official spokesperson Sinan Al-Majali said the process of handing over Adwan by the Israeli Occupation authorities to the relevant Jordanian authorities has begun on the King Hussein Bridge.

Notably, the House of Representatives closed the session that started Sunday morning to discuss Adwan's case.

Hebrew media reported that the Israeli Occupation authorities succumbed to the pressure exerted by Jordan regarding Adwan's case.

Adwan has been held in the Ofer military prison for approximately two weeks and met with his lawyer Thursday for the first time since his arrest.
