Hashemite University expels 42 students
Jordan’s Hashemite University decided to expel 42 students for participating in or inciting a fight that occurred on campus on Thursday.
A specialized committee held several meetings on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, and decided on expelling the students based on Article 12 of the student discipline system.
This decision came in the interest of the university administration for the safety of students and the reputation of Jordanian universities.
The president of Hashemite University, Fawaz Al-Zaboun, said that the university will continue to maintain a safe and stimulating university environment to promote positive values.
For his part, the Dean of Student Affairs, Sadiq Al-Shdaifat, confirmed that the university dealt with fairness and transparency in applying and enforcing disciplinary measures in accordance with the regulations.
He added that the student has the right to appeal to the university presidency within 15 days from the date of the decision.
