A Jordanian handball player, Adel Bakr Attari, died on Tuesday morning after he had a heart attack while playing a match on Monday.

Attari, who played for Jordan’s national team and the Kafranja handball club, suffered a heart attack during the second half of a game against Al-Salt Club, according to Jordan News Agency (Petra).

The Jordan Handball Federation issued an official statement on Tuesday, in which they said that the medical teams rushed to provide the necessary medical care before transferring him to a hospital near Al Hussein Youth City.

In light of this tragedy, the federation decided to postpone two Jordan Cup matches which were scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
