Sunday, Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned allowing extremists and a member of the Israeli Occupation Knesset to storm the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif, under the protection of the police, warning of the deterioration of the situation in light of allowing such provocative and escalating march in occupied Jerusalem.

The official spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Haitham Abu Al-Ful, stressed that the incursions of extremists and their provocative behavior, which are carried out under the protection of the police, are a violation of the historical and legal status quo, and of international law, stressing that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif, with its entire area of 144 dunums, is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims, and the visit for non-Muslims must be organized by Jerusalem Islamic Waqf which is affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf Islamic Affairs and Holy Places as it is the legal authority with exclusive jurisdiction to manage all the affairs of the mosque and to regulate entry to it.

The spokesperson also called on Tel Aviv, as the occupying power, to stop all practices and violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque, respect its sanctity, stop all measures aimed at changing the historical and legal status quo, and respect the authority of Jerusalem Islamic Waqf.
