The White House announced Wednesday that President Joe Biden will receive Israeli Occupation Prime Minister Naftali Bennett in Washington on Aug. 26.

"The President and Prime Minister Bennett will address vital issues related to regional and international security, including in Tehran," Biden's spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a statement.

"This visit will also be an opportunity for the two leaders to discuss efforts to promote peace, security and prosperity for Israelis and Palestinians, and the importance of working towards a more peaceful and secure future for the region," she added.

The close relationship between the Israeli Occupation and the United States went through a difficult period after Biden replaced Donald Trump, an ally of then Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as president.

But the end of Netanyahu's tenure, who remained in power for 12 consecutive years, and the formation of a new government headed by Naftali Bennett, paved the way for a reset in relations.

In mid-June, the US president said he "looks forward to working" with Bennett.

Psaki stressed Wednesday that "Prime Minister Bennett's visit will strengthen the enduring partnership between the United States and Israel, reflect the deep relations between our two governments and our peoples, and underline the United States' unwavering commitment to Israel's security."

In June, Israeli Occupation President Reuven Rivlin visited US President Joe Biden, and said he was "very satisfied" with Biden's determination to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power.
