This makes the Moderna vaccine the fifth vaccine to get approved in the UAE after the Sinopharm, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sputnik V and Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines.
Earlier Sunday, the UAE became the world’s 'most vaccinated' nation, followed by Seychelles, according to Bloomberg’s vaccine tracker.
The UAE has so far administered 15.5 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine, which covers 72.1 percent of its 10 million population.
Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the UAE has confirmed 639,476 cases and 1,834 deaths.
