The governor of Amman, Saad Shehab, announced Sunday that no events celebrating Pride Month will be permitted in Amman after several event plans emerged on social media.

Shehab said that he sent an official letter to the security services, stressing that the concerned authorities will not allow the holding of any event that "transgresses public morals and violates the law."
