Saturday, the Assistant Secretary-General for Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health Ghazi Sharkas said that the vaccines of the National Program for Children as well as the coronavirus vaccines were not affected by the blackout Friday.

Sharkas confirmed that the vaccines were preserved due to the pre-emptive plan and routine inspections.

He said that a number of vaccines were transferred as a precaution, in refrigerated cars, to places equipped with generators to store them at suitable temperatures during the power outage.

He pointed out that the ministry staff inspected all electrical generators, fuel and oxygen levels in compliance with the pre-emptive plan. He noted that all hospitals continued operating normally.
