Wednesday, the coronavirus claimed the life of a young doctor, identified as Bashar Al-Omari. Activists mourned his death on social media, led by the former Minister of Transport, Lina Shabib.

On Facebook, Shabib questioned how much longer the virus would claim lives, asking "how long will we mourn brothers and friends?"

She added that Omari was man of high manners, noting that "coronavirus kidnapped him early (...) leaving us with pain and grief," while extending condolences to his family.

The new death brings the total number of Jordanian doctors who died from COVID-19 to 43.

Notably, earlier Wednesday, another Jordanian doctor died from the coronavirus.
